Eberechi Eze’s release clause now revealed

Everyone knew that Eze had a release clause, which was expected to attract plenty of interest this summer, however, the amount remained a mystery.

Now, the exact amount of Eze’s release clause has been announced and in total it equates to £68 million, which is a fairly decent amount.

According to an exclusive from the Mail Online and Sami Mokbel, Eze’s release clause is valued at an initial £60m and this figure is followed by £8m in add-ons.

Eze has genuine interest from Spurs and numerous other Premier League sides are thought to be keen also. Interest in the English international is expected to grow as he prepares for a Euros tournament in which he could excel.

How much do Crystal Palace stand to profit from possible Eze sale

While we still expect the Eagles to fight to keep ahold of Eze, if the release clause is triggered at least we know it’s a decent fee that’ll be recouped and a club record sale as well.

Having signed for £16m in 2020, Palace could stand to profit £52m from any possible sale this summer.

That being said QPR are believed to have a 20 per cent sell-on clause built into the agreement which saw Eze sold.

So this would mean an extra £13.6m will head to QPR, amounting to Palace ending up pocketing a profit of just £38.4m, which isn’t as healthy a number, but will still do wonders for Palace’s budget, assuming the club is capable of having a £60m net spent, this sale could bring it close to, if not over the £100m mark.
