Alan Pardew has noticed £17m Crystal Palace star does one thing even better than Jack Grealish can

Alan Pardew has been talking about Ebrechi Eze and has highlighted what he does so much better than England teammate Jack Grealish.

Monday night saw Eberechi Eze made the inaugural start of his England career for what was his third total cap for his country.

The Crystal Palace forward impressed in the process, with Gareth Southgate lauding the Selhurst Park talent following the came.

He said: “It was lovely to see Eze go in and play with that swagger that he has at Palace.”

After such an impressive outing for England, chances are Eze has secured his place in the final 26 England squad which will head to Germany in the next week or so.

But Southgate wasn’t the only man to be delighted with the outing from the £17m man Eze as former Palace boss Alan Pardew also had some comments.

What Alan Pardew had to say about Eberechi Eze

Speaking on TalkSport on Tuesday, Pardew had plenty to say in a raving review of Eze and in the process highlighted where Palace’s No. 10 is better than Jack Grealish.

“Eze was terrific”, Pardew began to explain.

“He showed what he has been showing at Palace for a year. He has that gift of being able to ghost past people that not many players have, and with pace too.

“Grealish has it, but not quite with the same dynamic pace that Eze has. So, that was intriguing. He may as well have played himself into the left side of the England team, which is a bit of an issue for us.”

Pardew is being kind by suggesting the only thing Eze has over Grealish is speed, as the two players’ impact in a game couldn’t be more different.

The most telling sign of this is that Manchester City have been linked with signing Eze, while Grealish has been linked with an exit.

What does Eze heading to the Euros mean for Crystal Palace?

For Palace, having Eze now surely heading to the Euros will be a great source of pride for the club and is absolutely deserved after his 11-goal and six-assist season for the Eagles.

However, on a less than exciting note, it also means he’ll have the eyes of Europe on him this summer, which could increase interest in taking him away from Selhurst Park this summer.

If England are to go all the way in the competition this summer, it’ll see Eze likely not return to Palace training until late July which would rule him out of starting the campaign we imagine.
