Report: £27m Tottenham player now considering leaving after reports his former manager wants to sign him

Tottenham’s summer is going to see players come and go and one signing from 2020 is now seriously considering leaving the club.

Daniel Levy and ENIC are expected to back Ange Postecoglou in the market after they narrowly missed out on the Champions League places.

Postecoglou made no secret of his desire to see change in the summer in his last few press conferences of the season.

New signings will be a must for the club. But on the flipside, Postecoglou is also keen to trim the fat and wants to move players on who aren’t part of his plans.

One of those players could end up being midfielder, Giovani Lo Celso.

And after reports suggested Unai Emery could bring him to Aston Villa, it’s now being reported that Lo Celso himself is more than open to leaving.

Giovani Lo Celso open to Tottenham exit amid Aston Villa interest

According to a report from The Sun, Lo Celso is keen to consider his future at Spurs after dropping well down the pecking order under Postecoglou.

The Argentinian, who arrived for around £27m back in 2020, has played just a handful of times over the last 12 months.

Indeed, Lo Celso has even spent time back in Spain on loan.

However, he could get a Premier League reprieve this time as Unai Emery, who worked with him in Spain, is keen to bring him to Villa Park.

Emery himself is wanting to strengthen his squad after getting Villa into the top four.

Lo Celso, then, could well get a big opportunity.

Villa move a no-brainer for Lo Celso

Not many saw this coming but if Aston Villa are serious about signing Gio Lo Celso, then it’s a move he has to push for.

Clearly, he’s not wanted at Tottenham anymore and for Spurs, it’s about seeing what sort of fee they can get for a player who hasn’t quite delivered.

Of course, Lo Celso is an international midfielder and has tonnes of qualities.

Unai Emery obviously feels he is the man to potentially unlock those qualities and Spurs will be mindful of strengthening a rival.

For Lo Celso, though, a move to Villa is a huge plus and something he has to pursue.
