'Wants the move': Fabrizio Romano says £17m Tottenham player is now keen to join Champions League side

Fabrizio Romano has suggested that one Tottenham Hotspur player is keen to join AC Milan in the summer transfer window, and personal terms will not be an issue if the two clubs can agree a fee.

Ange Postecoglou will benefit from offloading some of those on the fringes of the squad as they look to kick on after an encouraging first year under the Australian.

It seems that Tottenham are prepared to cash in on one player should they receive a bid of £17 million in this window.

Emerson Royal has had a turbulent time at Spurs, having never quite been able to stamp his authority on a single place in the side. And yet, he has still managed to bring up a century of appearances for Tottenham.

Perhaps he may not get the chance to add to that tally, with AC Milan interested in signing Emerson over the coming months.

Fabrizio Romano reports on X that Tottenham will let the Brazilian leave for around €20 million, but Emerson is seemingly hoping that the Rossoneri did confirm their interest with a bid as he is keen to make the move to San Siro…

What Ange Postecoglou really thinks of Tottenham defender

Emerson’s limitations arguably came to the fore during Postecoglou’s first year in charge, with the 25-year-old not able to make the same kind of impact going forward as Pedro Porro or Destiny Udogie.

But he can play across the backline, and you can never question the effort Emerson puts in. And it would appear that the Tottenham boss would be disappointed to see him leave North London.

Postecoglou reportedly loves Emerson and is a big fan of his character, so perhaps it would be fair to suggest that he would prefer to keep the defender this summer.

However, Tottenham are looking for the signings which will take them into the title picture again, so perhaps some ruthless decisions will have to be made in the market.
