Arsenal walking away from Martin Zubimendi deal

Discussing Arsenal’s interest today, German journalist Christian Falk has been giving detail on the Gunners’ liking of the midfielder.

However, despite apparently making a bid a few weeks back, it looks like Arsenal aren’t quite at that stage and potentially, might never get there.

Speaking on the Bayern Insider podcast, Falk commented on Arsenal’s interest in Zubimendi and insisted things are looking less likely now.

“Arsenal are backing away. Although they were actually prepared to pay the €60m release clause, in the end, they didn’t want Zubimendi for playing reasons,” Falk said.

“Arteta is also Spanish & they are said to have been very close.”
