They may have split, but one of Kim Kardashian’s relationships will go down in chaotic dating history

The world was in disbelief in 2021 when Kim Kardashian stepped out with none other than Pete Davidson following the toxic split from husband, Kanye West.

43-year-old reality star Kardashian has been a staple in headlines across the globe since she was first linked to 2000s icons like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and Nicole Richie.

Though fans know her most from fronting shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians and The Kardashians, most of Kim’s relationships have always been front and center under the public’s scrutiny.

After six years of being hitched to rapper-turned-fashion designer Kanye West, Kim rejoined the world as a single pringle in 2021. As fans will know, she didn’t mingle for long before engaging in a relationship with Ariana Grande’s ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson.

The Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian saga began at dinner

While most people would attribute the start of Pete and Kim’s relationship to comedy skits on Saturday Night Live (SNL), the two officially met during Kid Cudi’s birthday dinner in 2019.

At the time, Kim attended the bash with her then-husband Pete, and Timothée Chalamet.

In 2021, Kim Kardashian met Pete Davidson again when she featured on SNL with musical guest Halsey. During the show, the American Horror Story actress did skits centered around Disney’s Alladin, a courtroom, and a dream guy.

Following her debut on the comedy show, she hosted an after-party for the cast and crew, though college dropout Pete did not attend. As such, Kim asked the SNL producers if she could get his number.

“A few days later, I called the producer at SNL and I was like ‘Hey do you have Pete’s number?'”, Kim said during an episode of her show.

“They were like ‘yeah’ and I text him. I wasn’t even thinking like ‘Oh my god I’m gonna be in a relationship with him.’ I was just thinking… I heard about this BDE. I need to get out there. I need to just, like, jump start my… I was just basically DTF.”

Just a few weeks later, reports said that Kim Kardashian had been hanging out with Pete Davidson at Knott’s Scary Farm, California. They were joined by Kim’s sister Kourtney Kardashian and her partner Travis Barker.

Kim and Pete went Instagram official

After months of being sighted at various Los Angeles locations, the couple went Instagram official in March with a collage of Kim’s time on SNL.

By April, Kim decided to introduce Pete to her kids, and the latter was soon pictured driving North West, now 10, around LA in a pink Moke car.

The relationship only intensified in May 2022 as Kim and Pete made their red carpet debut at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

The night out on the town came the same month as the Met Gala, which they attended together as Kim flaunted an iconic dress first worn by the late Marilyn Monroe.

Kanye vs Pete

At the same time Pete Davidson was cozying up to Kim Kardashian, her ex-husband Kanye West was racking up controversy after controversy, including losing brand deals over antisemitic remarks.

After Kanye nicknamed Pete ‘Skete’, the rapper released a diss track called “My Life Was Never Eazy” targeting the comedian.

But it didn’t stop there as Kanye soon insinuated that Pete had died in a viral Instagram post that accumulated over 1.4 million likes in only an hour.

Kim and Pete’s split shook the internet

While neither Pete nor Kim have publicly said that Kanye’s attacks changed their relationship, that hasn’t stopped speculation from fans who loved the unique pairing. Naturally, when they learned of the breakup in August 2022, fans were devastated.

E! News initially confirmed the saddening news, as insiders said the pair had “a lot of love and respect for each other.”

Thankfully, there doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between the celebrities, as they have yet to exchange blows on social media or leak scathing statements to the press.

The relationship may not have worked out, but at least Pete got the glow-up of the century from the queen of reality TV.
