Report: Al-Nassr are now ready to hold talks to sign £100,000-a-week Man City player in the summer

It has been reported that Al-Nassr are prepared to hold talks to sign one Manchester player in the summer.

After signing Aymeric Laporte from Manchester City in the summer of 2023, it seems like the Saudi Arabian side are trying to add yet another player to their ranks from the Etihad Stadium.

The Saudi Pro League seems to have replaced Major League Soccer as a majority of players’ favoured division outside Europe.

Al-Nassr prepare to hold talks to sign Man City star

Especially since last summer, big names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante have headed to the league. Another superstar in Kevin De Bruyne has hinted that a move to the league sounds like a good idea.

According to an exclusive report by CaughtOffside, Al-Nassr are ready to hold talks to sign Ederson Moraes this summer — with a claim emerging a month ago that Saudi Arabian clubs were keen on his signature.

Furthermore, Luis Castro, the Saudi giants’ manager is described as a “big admirer” of the Brazilian, making him a huge priority for the club — especially with David Ospina looking set to depart this summer.

While the report states that Pep Guardiola wishes to keep the £100,000-a-week man, they are unwilling to sell him for a fee below €40 million (£34 million).

If Al-Nassr fail to sign Ederson, their plan B in the goalkeeping department is believed to be Emiliano Martinez.

Stefan Ortega’s contract news might mean Ederson is exit-bound

On Saturday, it was confirmed by Manchester City’s official website that Stefan Ortega had signed a contract extension until 2026.

In May, it was claimed that one of the reasons why the German’s contract talks were stalling was because he felt he was ready to oust Ederson.

Now that Stefan Ortega is set to stay at Manchester City, Ederson could be on his way out; potentially triggering Al-Nassr to ready themselves for transfer talks.
