The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) reported the striking of the latest Russian Su-57 aircraft. This marks the first time in history.

"On June 8, a multirole fighter of the aggressor state, the Su-57, was struck at the Ahktubinsk aerodrome in the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation, located 589 kilometers from the front line," according to the statement.

According to intelligence data, satellite images of the aircraft parking area at the enemy aerodrome confirm this incident.

"The images show that on June 7, the Su-57 was intact, but by June 8, there were blast craters and characteristic fire marks near it, resulting from a fire strike," added GUR.

Known facts about the aircraft

As noted by GUR, the Su-57 is Russia's most advanced fighter capable of deploying Kh-59 and Kh-69 missiles for strikes.

The Russian Air and Space Forces have only a few units of these combat aircraft in service.

"The strike on the Su-57 is the first such incident in history," intelligence reports confirm.

Damage to Russian aircraft

Ukrainian special services regularly shoot down Russian aircraft. For example, the fighters of the 110th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shoot down Russian Su-25 practically every week.

Among the significant targets, the downing of an A-50 and the damaging of an Il-22 should be noted. RBC-Ukraine reported on January 14, citing sources in the Defense Forces, that the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down a Russian A-50 aircraft over the Azov Sea and damaged an Il-22.
