F1 fans now all want to see V-CARB do one thing after confirming Yuki Tsunoda’s new contract

In the build-up to qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix, the next piece of the 2025 F1 puzzle was slotted into place.

After a brilliant start to the season, Visa Cash App RB announced that Yuki Tsunoda would be staying with the team for another season.

Tsunoda currently sits in the top ten of the Drivers’ Championship and will be starting the Canadian Grand Prix on the fifth row of the grid after once again reaching Q3.

More than half of the seats on the grid are now filled for 2025, but RB still have to decide who Tsunoda’s teammate is going to be.

Daniel Ricciardo put in a fantastic performance in qualifying and will start Sunday’s race in 5.

However, a lot of Formula 1 fans would love to see Tsunoda joined by Liam Lawson at V-CARB next year.

It’s yet to be seen whether Ricciardo will get another season with Red Bull’s sister team, especially after Sergio Perez signed an extension this week.

F1 fans want to see Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson as teammates in 2025

Visa Cash App RB are faced with a fantastic problem as they try and fit three talented drivers into two race seats.

Before the start of the season, Ricciardo was expected to lead the charge and potentially even secure some podiums for the newly-named RB team.

He was dreaming of a move to Red Bull in the future but that now appears to no longer be an option.

Instead, it’s been Yuki Tsunoda who has emerged as V-CARB’s best driver this season.

The 24-year-old is above the likes of Lance Stroll and his teammate in the Drivers’ Championship and is regularly scoring points.

While he doesn’t have a route into the Red Bull team either, he’s young enough to continue improving and showing Christian Horner that he could be a long-term replacement for Sergio Perez.

Liam Lawson is patiently waiting to see if he’ll be racing in F1 next season and has a clause in his contract apparently guaranteeing him a place on the grid.

Fans would now love to see the young Kiwi confirmed as Tsunoda’s teammate for 2025.

The replies were full of fans suggesting that they wanted to see Tsunoda joined by Lawson next season.

@al_caholic666: “Lawson next.”

Gustavo Austria: “Now put Lawson as his partner, congrats for Yuki.”

@ITISSOANNOYING: “Yuki and Lawson would be a fantastic combination but it won’t happen.”

Kyuxia: “Announce Lawson for next season.”

Isaac OR: “Let’s hope Lawson is his teammate for next year. It would be a very exciting lineup.”

Alfredo Sanchez: “That’s great! Now put Lawson in the other car and we’re good to go.”

Daniel Ricciardo was the target of Jacques Villeneuve’s ire at the beginning of the Canadian Grand Prix weekend.

Christian Horner has reacted to his criticism and is one of the Australian’s biggest fans.

However, it seems less and less likely that he’ll be on the grid for years to come after Perez and Tsunoda were confirmed for 2025.
