Report: Premier League club want to keep hold of 'quality' £34m forward amid interest from Chelsea

Chelsea have recently been linked with one forward from one of their Premier League rivals.

After missing out on top four this season, Chelsea will want to improve their squad to give Enzo Maresca and his side a better chance of finishing there next term.

Maresca was named as the Blues’ new manager on Monday, replacing Mauricio Pochettino in the Stamford Bridge dugout.

As Chelsea continue to be linked with players, though, he is unlikely to be the only new face at the club this summer.

Rumours suggest that the club could sign a striker ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Chelsea’s rivals not keen to sell

One centre-forward who Chelsea have been heavily linked with is RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.

It has been claimed that they held talks with his representatives at last weekend’s Champions League final.

They seem to have other options if they cannot sign him, but one of their potential alternatives is still wanted at his club.

According to GiveMeSport, Fulham want to keep hold of Rodrigo Muniz this summer.

It comes after a report from Goal claimed that Chelsea had made contact about signing the Brazilian in a potential €40m (£34m) deal.

Chelsea could still sign Rodrigo Muniz

Even if Fulham do want to keep hold of Muniz, it looks like he could still leave Marco Silva’s side in the upcoming transfer window.

According to Goal, Fulham have put a £34m valuation on the centre-forward, which suggests he is available.

Muniz could be a good alternative to Nicolas Jackson if Chelsea cannot find an upgrade on the Senegal international in the market.

He was in devastating form during the second half of the season, grabbing a brace against Chelsea’s fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur in one of Fulham’s games.

“I think so. He’s got the quality,” former Chelsea star Willian told TNT Sports last month when asked if his teammate could challenge for the Premier League Golden Boot one day. Maybe he will get the chance to at Chelsea.
