'Superstar' is set for crunch talks with his agent after being linked with Liverpool move - Fabrizio Romano

Liverpool look certain to be busy in the summer transfer window, with movement expected in both directions.

New manager Arne Slot won’t want too much change, however, with a smooth transition needed if he is to succeed.

A major change has already taken place given the exit of Jurgen Klopp, with former Premier League striker Darren Bent warning Slot that he cannot come in and alter absolutely everything.

But the Dutchman should be eager to bring new faces to Anfield, particularly with Champions League football returning to Merseyside.

And one area that the Reds are keen to strengthen is in attack, with David Ornstein reporting that a new wide player is on the agenda.

Federico Chiesa set for crunch talks after Liverpool links

Juventus star Federico Chiesa is one such player reportedly being targeted by Liverpool, with the winger potentially available for as low as £26million.

Fabrizio Romano has now taken to X to provide an update on the forward, explaining that the player’s agent Fali Ramadani will be in Italy early next week to discuss all of Chiesa’s options.

Romano added that while no final decision has been made, Juventus could allow the Italian to leave if a good proposal arrives.

Liverpool should go all-out to sign Federico Chiesa

The Reds already boast a strong attacking lineup, with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota among their options.

But a new forward-thinking player could be needed if any of those current Anfield men decide to move on in the summer transfer window, which is a real possibility.

Labelled a ‘superstar’ by Italian media, Chiesa could shine on Merseyside, having lit up Serie A at both Juventus and Fiorentina.

He has certainly struggled with injuries in his career so far, but when fit, the 26-year-old can be unplayable, as proven for club and country over the years.

Chiesa will, however, undoubtedly be attracting attention from elsewhere, meaning Liverpool are very likely to have a battle on their hands if they to pursue his signature this summer.

The attacker, who can play all across the frontline, hit double figures for goals last season, with that tally certain to rise in an injury-free campaign.
