'From what I'm hearing': Fabrizio Romano shares what Man United are now thinking about Jadon Sancho

Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Jadon Sancho’s future at Manchester United.

Jadon Sancho looks set to head out the door at Old Trafford this summer after an encouraging loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.

The Englishman headed back to Germany in January after a public fallout with Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.

While Ten Hag’s future remains up in the air, United are seemingly ready to cash in on Sancho regardless of who’s in the dugout next season.

Sancho is keen to remain at Dortmund beyond the summer but the Red Devils are anticipating more interest in the forward.

What Man United think about Sancho’s future

In his latest YouTube video, Romano shared what he’s heard from inside United about potential interest in Sancho.

Dortmund may find it difficult to match United’s demands for the winger, with Ten Hag’s side wanting at least £40 million. But the Red Devils believe there could be more interest in Sancho from teams across Europe after a bright loan spell in Germany.

“The position of Man United is really clear, as I’ve always told you, they are prepared to sell Jadon Sancho this summer,” the transfer insider said. “Regardless of who’s going to be the manager, Man United will try to find a solution for Sancho, to sell Sancho to make some money and also the same is expected with Mason Greenwood.

“So they still want both players to leave but for Sancho now they’re prepared to enter into concrete negotiations to find a solution. Man United, internally, when they discussed the decision on Sancho, indicated £40 million as the fee they expected for Sancho to leave and try a new chapter.

“Dortmund are obviously interested in Sancho, he’s one of their priority targets but £40 million could be expensive for them so let’s see what they try to do. For sure, the interest is still there and the player is still keen on Borussia Dortmund.

“Man United, from what I’m hearing, feel there could be some other possibilities for Sancho around Europe. With important clubs around Europe, not only Germany it could be in other countries and that’s why Man United are open to explore options and are absolutely open to selling Sancho for a fee worth around £40 million.”

Sancho move feels inevitable

Despite some excellent performances in Dortmund’s run to the Champions League final, Sancho’s days at United seem numbered.

The 24-year-old has failed to make an impact after his big-money move to Manchester in 2021.

He shouldn’t be short of interest this summer though after regaining his best form in the Bundesliga last season.

Sancho netted three times and provided as many assists in 21 appearances for Dortmund.

While there is clearly a hugely talented player in there, INEOS are expected to be ruthless when it comes to making changes this summer.

The United squad is in desperate need of an overhaul and offloading Sancho for a fee worth around £40 million would add much-needed funds for a rebuild.
