Designermakers 21 in Diss hosts mandala mosaic workshop for roof funds

A charity creative hub in Diss let people create their own mandala mosaic art during a workshop day.

Designermakers21, in St Nicholas Street, held a pair of workshops to create the patterned pieces on June 1.

Joy Holden, who ran the workshop and is a mosaic artist, said that people have really enjoyed it.

“This was a beginner’s introduction to Mosaic using pre-formed glass and ceramic shapes.

“Participants chose from a wide variety of tiles of different shapes and colours to make their designs.”

The artist then helped people to grout and finish off their pieces which they could then take home.

The money from workshops has gone towards the designermakersCIO fundraising campaign called 'Raise Our Roof’.

The aim is to raise £46,000 of match-funding for essential building repairs to the designermakers21 building.
