Cyclist hospitalised and driver arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after Rodbridge Hill, Long Melford, near Sudbury, crash

A cyclist was hospitalised and a driver arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after a crash.

The cyclist suffered serious injuries in the collision involving a Citroen C4 on Rodbridge Hill, in Long Melford near Sudbury, just after 7.55pm on Friday.

They were taken to hospital by land ambulance and police closed the road.

A police spokesperson said the driver was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, failure to stop and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
