'My favourite': Sergio Aguero says Man City now have a player who's even more complete than Kevin De Bruyne

Sergio Aguero believes that a certain player at Manchester City is the most “complete”; even more than Kevin De Bruyne.

Kevin De Bruyne was compared to Roger Federer by Danny Murphy for how “effortless” he looks on the pitch.

Jamie Carragher once claimed that the Belgian, alongside Thierry Henry, is the greatest foreign player in Premier League history.

Aguero says Man City attacker is even more complete than De Bruyne

Sergio Aguero had the pleasure of playing alongside Kevin De Bruyne at the Etihad Stadium for six years as they formed a deadly duo, similar to the Argentine’s partnership with David Silva.

However, Sergio Aguero has claimed that Phil Foden is the most complete player at Manchester City; despite players like Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri still being at the club.

Aguero was quoted by the club’s official website: “Without a doubt, Phil Foden is my favourite player.”

The five-time Premier League winner added: “He is the player who, when I saw him come to the first team for the first time, I saw his quality, his talent and his liveliness at such a young age.

“I think that at 16, he has improved a little with the team and he did things as a kid that made it clear that in the Premier League, he could do very well.”

“One time Pep Guardiola asked me who was the player [in the academy] at City that I believed in.

The retired goalscorer concluded: “I would like to meet him again and play because I think he has a huge future at City and I believe that today he is the most complete player that City has.”

Tough to say if Foden is indeed City’s most complete player

Aguero has never hidden his admiration for the 24-year-old, once claiming in a game of start, bench and sell that he would start Foden over De Bruyne and David Silva.

Whether Sergio Aguero is spot on about Phil Foden being more complete than players like Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Rodri will stir a debate.

City’s number 47 is certainly up there among players at his club in this regard considering the technique, goalscoring ability and versatility he possesses.

However, Foden still has room to further elevate his game while it seems like the likes of De Bruyne and Rodri have mastered their positions.

As a result, it is difficult to judge which player is the most well-rounded at Manchester City.
