Arsenal told asking price for target dubbed the next Luka Modric, he's set to star at Euro 2024

Arsenal are reportedly aware of how much a rumoured transfer target will now cost heading into Euro 2024.

This summer’s competition promises to be quite the spectacle, with England heading into the tournament as the favourites with France, Portugual and hosts Germany also in with a shot of winning the Euros.

As for Arsenal, the tournament could be used as an opportunity to scout for potential targets, with Slovenia international Benjamin Sesko already a player who is on the north London side’s radar heading into the summer transfer window.

And the Gunners now know the price of one player who could be set to star at the Euros.

Croatia international Martin Baturina valued at £17m amid Arsenal interest

According to the Athletic, Croatia international Martin Baturina has been valued by Dinamo Zagreb at €20m (£17m), with Arsenal one of the clubs believed to be interested in signing the 21-year-old midfielder.

Hailed as the successor to Croatian legend Luka Modric, Baturina is set to become the next talented prospect to make the move from Dinamo Zagreb and onto one of Europe’s elite, following the likes of Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic.

With Arsenal in the market for a central midfielder this summer, Baturina could be a left-field option for the Gunners in their bid to replace the likes of Mohamed Elneny and to provide competition in the position.

And given how little Dinamo Zagreb want for Baturina coupled with how young the midfielder is, Arsenal stand to lose nothing if they were to move for the 21-year-old, who could be open to joining the north London side this summer.

Arsenal should take a gamble on potential Euros star Baturina

With five goals and eight assists in the league for Dinamo Zagreb this season, there’s a good reason why the likes of Arsenal are interested in signing Baturina, who this summer could finally be on the move away from Croatia.

And for the Gunners, taking a gamble on Baturina could be worth the risk this window, especially with the midfielder expected to shine at this summer’s Euros with Croatia out in Germany.

Midfield is an area of the squad that could benefit from a younger recruit this summer, and at £17m, Baturina could fill that void and then some for Arsenal in the upcoming season.
