Tottenham reportedly move in to sign £34m West Ham attacker target who has 'explosive ability'

Tottenham Hotspur are threatening to derail one of West Ham United’s reported transfer plans this summer.

West Ham and Tottenham are both in desperate need of top quality attacking reinforcements this summer.

Julen Lopetegui‘s need is far greater than Ange Postecoglou’s though, there’s absolutely no doubt about that.

Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals were both allowed to leave in January, with no replacements being brought in by David Moyes.

Lopetegui is now scouring the continent, if not the entire planet, for some new additions to his forward line.

Luis Guilherme appears to be closing in on a move to West Ham, but there’s another supremely talented attacker on our radar as well.

Unfortunately for the Hammers, Spurs have just thrown their hat into the ring…

Tottenham move in to sign £34m West Ham attacker target

West Ham face stiff competition from Tottenham for Albert Gudmundsson – a player who the Hammers have been linked with since January.

According to a report from Corriere dello Sport (print edition June 10th, page 17), Tottenham have just made contact to sign the Genoa attacker.

The interest in signing the 26-year-old from Spurs will undoubtedly be a big problem for the Hammers this summer.

Tottenham have European football on offer for a start, and will probably be pushing for a top four finish in the Premier League table next season.

Total Football Analysis Magazine recently described the Icelandic ace as a player with ‘explosive ability’.

He will be available for £34 million this summer (Sempre Inter), and considering his talent, that seems like a reasonable price to pay for him.

The 26-year-old was on fire for Genoa so far this season just gone, and bagged 16 goals and five assists in 37 games (Transfermarkt).

The 37-capped Iceland international can play anywhere along the front-line but is at his best when operating on the left wing or in the number 10 role.

Gudmundsson is a top tier talent, and he possesses the physical capabilities needed to succeed in the Premier League.

He’d be an absolutely brilliant signing for the Hammers if we manager to pull it off.

However, Tottenham seem to be in a strong position to beat West Ham to his signature this summer, and that’s a real shame.
