“This will immediately allow for quicker repairs of foreign equipment, enabling it to return to the front lines more swiftly,” said Kamyshin.
“In the future, new models of armored vehicles will be produced here.”
He added that the project supports not only the military but also the Ukrainian economy.
“Ukrainian specialists work in the workshop under the technical supervision of German colleagues,” the minister said.
“Taxes are paid in Ukraine, and we gain technological expertise.”
Rheinmetall is a major German defense conglomerate that manufactures ammunition and military equipment. In October 2023, the company signed a deal to establish a joint venture with the Ukrainian defense industry.
In March, Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger announced that the company aims to build at least four plants in Ukraine to produce artillery shells, military equipment, gunpowder, and air defense systems.
