'Seriously considering': Club now weighing up making move to sign ‘exceptional’ Chelsea player - journalist

Chelsea’s “exceptional” first-team player is now receiving transfer interest from a giant European club.

There is a number of Blues stars linked with potential exits from Stamford Bridge in the transfer rumour mill.

Sky Sports recently claimed that Chelsea do not need to sell players this month to comply with Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

However, will we see a few individuals leave to allow a new-look squad to emerge under Enzo Maresca?

This summer’s transfer window officially opens for Premier League clubs on 14 June. The Blues have already made a fast start by confirming centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo will be joining on a free transfer.

Bayern Munich considering Chelsea player

Florian Plettenberg, who’s a journalist for Sky Sports Germany, has claimed via X that Bayern Munich is “seriously considering” a move to sign Chelsea’s Levi Colwill.

It is understood that the German Bundesliga giants have admired the 21-year-old Chelsea defender for a long time.

Apparently, Bayern are chasing a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s central defender Jonathan Tah, but Colwiill is viewed as an alternative options.

It is claimed that there’s even been “initial talks” regarding Colwill to Bayern, albeit there’s no clear indication on whether that was with the club or player himself.

Keep Levi Colwill at all costs

The Chelsea’s Chronicle’s strong belief is that Colwill is the future of the club’s defence and shouldn’t be sold under any circumstance.

Colwill, who’s an academy graduate, is one of the best young ball-playing centre-halves around.

Speaking via Sky Sports Premier League last season, Jamie Redknapp said that Colwill’s passing is “exceptional” for a defender.

Hopefully, the Englishman is given the opportunity to thrive in the heart of defence under Maresca. It was frustrating when he was sometimes shoehorned into the XI as a left-back last season.

He would no doubt succeed in Vincent Kompany’s Bayern set-up, but Chelsea need to make sure his home is at Stamford Bridge.
