What Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez did to Kendry Paez straight after playing against him on international duty

Earlier this week, Chelsea fans got a nice moment where a number of their players were in action at the same time during their international duties.

As Ecuador took on Argentina in a warm up for the upcoming Copa America this summer, the Blues’ two most expensive players were in action against each other in the middle of the park.

Enzo Fernandez made his first appearance since his surgery off the bench in a 1-0 win, while Moises Caicedo started for the opponents.

International media were impressed by his display despite the defeat, with them saying they saw some leadership factors that they believe he has learned in his time at Stamford Bridge.

Another player who was on show was Kendry Paez, who was handed the number 10 shirt by his country at the age of just 17.

He is set to join up with the first team in a years’ time, although reports have claimed that he has joined up for training with the squad at Cobham briefly already.

Enzo Fernandez approaches Paez after playing him

This is perhaps how Fernandez is so familiar with him, as he clearly made an effort after the game to approach him.

A video on the Twitter page of CFCDatro shows the World Cup winner with his arm around the youngster engaging in a conversation, with Caicedo also involved.

Paez not set to go out on loan

It is the belief of many fans of the club that if things go well over the next few years that all three of those players could be starters at Chelsea for a while to come.

Reports have already claimed that there is no intention for the Blues to loan out Paez when he finally does join up with them, and instead the idea is to immediately integrate him into the first team due to the immense talent he has already shown in his career.
