Report: Serie A club set their sights on £12m Chelsea player this summer, he's ready to leave

One current Chelsea midfielder is reportedly attracting interest this summer from a top-flight club in Italy.

In fairness, the Serie A division has been a great destination in recent years for Chelsea players to go and flourish.

The likes of Christian Pulisic, Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tammy Abraham have excelled since leaving Stamford Bridge for Italy.

Now, another Chelsea individual is linked with a potential move to Italy.

Lazio linked with Chelsea midfielder

Corriere dello Sport claims that Serie A club Lazio may be interested in signing Chelsea’s young midfielder Cesare Casadei.

It is understood that the Italians are searching the transfer market to find an attacking playmaker to fill the No 10 position.

The report mentions that Casadei, who’s just 21, is one of the ideas for Lazio in the transfer market.

Casadei is a box-to-box midfielder with an eye for goal, something he’s shown when representing Italy at youth level in the past. He scored seven goals for Italy in seven games as his country finished runners-up at the U20 World Cup in 2023.

Cesare Casadei needs a loan move

Chelsea completely messed up last season with the development of Casadei. Let’s hope they have learned their lesson and will treat him better next term.

The 21-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at Leicester City, but he was wrongly recalled in the New Year and has spent the last six months mainly warming the Chelsea bench.

It would be great for the £12m central midfielder (The Guardian) to play regularly somewhere next year, whether that’s at Lazio or somewhere else.

Journalist Nicolo Schira claimed via X in March that Casadei is ready to leave Chelsea this summer to play football.

Hopefully, he goes on loan next year and has a long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
