Report: 'One of the most promising footballers' now on the radar of Manchester United as swap deal eyed

The transfer window officially opens this Friday, yet Manchester United look miles off from completing any moves.

With a decision either way yet to be announced regarding Erik ten Hag, it’s little surprise that the transfer incomings are yet to start heating up for Manchester United.

But recent days have seen rumours around Jarrad Branthwaite accelerate along with Joao Neves, with a second bid for the Portuguese midfielder expected following the rejection of a £51m bid last week.

But while incomings are moving slowly, concerningly exits are also stagnating, with nothing looking imminent for Jadon Sancho, but reports are persisting in the clubs interested in signing Mason Greenwood.

Now, one club’s interest has been reported once more while a potential swap deal is linked.

Manchester United like Samuel Iling-Junior

This summer there has been no shortage of players linked with making a move to Old Trafford, but in Italy, reports have been tying United with one new option now linked.

It’s according to a report from Tutto Juve, Ineos likes the idea of signing Juventus’ 20-year-old Samuel Iling-Junior after he’s been linked a few times in the past week.

Iling-Junior is also a target for Atalanta and Bologna, while Aston Villa is also mentioned as having an interest in “one of the most promising footballers of his generation”, as Juventus’ media have described him.

Iling-Junior as we previously explained would be a weird signing, considering he’s not an upgrade on anything currently on the wings at Old Trafford.

But interest makes more sense when the other news involves United and Juventus.

Mason Greenwood prefers Juventus move

The exit of Greenwood has long been rumoured for this summer, and now it appears that the interested clubs are narrowing down.

Now according to a separate report from Tutto Juve, it appears that the Englishman who enjoyed a strong campaign with Getafe now favours a move to Italy, which would see Atletico Madrid miss out on the forward despite long being frontrunners.

However, this could be a problem for United with the price tag being outside of Juventus’ budget.

In this event, there are players United could use who could be offered instead of Iling-Junior, such as Federico Chiesa.
