What Harry Kane did for Crystal Palace No.20 Adam Wharton during England camp, it surely helped him

It’s been a whirlwind few months for Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton and now he’s in Germany preparing for the Euros with England.

The 20-year-old midfield maestro at Selhurst Park has been an utter revelation ever since he was signed in January for £22m.

Arriving as one for the future, Adam Wharton very quickly became present-tense for the Eagles as he immediately made himself pivotal in midfield.

Not even Gareth Southgate could deny him, selecting the former Blackburn star for his England squad heading to the Euros this summer.

Now, it’s been shared who was helping him settle into the squad and it speaks volumes.

Harry Kane and Adam Wharton are already close

Having been called up for the very first time, after being in the U20s last international break, Wharton probably had little expectation of heading to Germany, but that’s exactly what has happened.

Now according to the Daily Mail, Harry Kane is the player who welcomed Wharton with the report explaining that the pair even shared dinner one night.

Wharton is said to have been a breath of fresh air in the squad for England and the senior players within the squad have taken a shine to him.

This however may not be a pleasing thing to hear for Palace given the fact Kane’s Bayern Munich have an interest in signing Wharton and perhaps Kane is whispering into his ear regarding that.

This says a lot about Adam Wharton

While everyone can see Wharton is impressive and a guaranteed superb player, knowing the captain of England also sees this and agrees must be an excellent feeling for Wharton.

Given his rise has been so fast, and then that he impressed on his debut for England, Wharton will be continuing to impress his teammates and with Kane being Southgate’s right-hand man, it bodes well.

Wharton likely felt nervous upon arriving at the England camp but Kane’s human touch will have been a welcome touch which surely helped him settle in the squad and therefore capable of doing enough to secure his place in the final 26-man squad.
