Cody Gakpo raves about ‘really good’ Liverpool teammate after what he’s seen

Liverpool are set for plenty of changes next season, the primary one being the change in the Anfield dugout.

Jurgen Klopp has been replaced by Arne Slot, with the new manager currently settling into life on Merseyside.

Fortunately, he arrives onto the scene with a long list of hugely talented players at his disposal, with Klopp having built a fantastic squad.

It remains to be seen, however, which star men will stay at the club in the transfer, with the futures of many Liverpool players up in the air.

For now, however, many of them are too busy to be concerned about the Reds, with international football on their minds.

Cody Gakpo praises Liverpool teammate Luis Diaz

One such player currently on the international scene is Cody Gakpo, who will be keen to clinch success with the Netherlands at Euro 2024.

His fellow Anfield attacker Luis Diaz meanwhile is currently on duty with Colombia, although that hasn’t stopped the speculation surrounding his future on Merseyside.

The Reds may consider selling the winger if an offer of more than £50million arrives this summer, while a potential swap deal with Barcelona winger Raphinha has emerged.

It is a sale that would undoubtedly upset Gakpo, who has raved about Diaz’s efforts both on and off the pitch.

“He is skilful, good dribble, good technique, good vision, really good player, to be fair, on the pitch and off the pitch, really nice guy,” said Gakpo, as per the official Premier League YouTube channel.

Will Luis Diaz stay at Liverpool?

The Colombian’s future really is uncertain, with the Anfield faithful in the dark over where he will be playing his football next season.

He hit the ground running in red following his switch from Porto in January 2022, immediately winning over fans with his ability on the ball.

But injuries and a lack of form have stuttered his development, with his lack of composure in the final third perhaps behind the latest exit-talk.

Slot would, however, be foolish to lose such a key player, with the Dutchman needing his senior stars to step up during his early stages in the dugout.

Gakpo meanwhile has perhaps undergone the opposite trajectory, with the Netherlands ace not having the strongest start to life at Liverpool, but really impressing in more recent times.

The pair did link up well together in the final third under Jurgen Klopp, with Slot surely eager for that partnership to continue next season.
