Report: Chelsea's board could yet be swayed into selling 'fantastic talent' by a huge offer

There’s a first-team player at Stamford Bridge that Chelsea have no plans to sell, but the clubs senior figures could yet be swayed if someone makes a huge offer this summer.

The Blues have become renowned for splashing the cash and spending big in the 21st century. There’s been some huge sales coincide with that as well, though.

Chelsea do have a few individuals in the squad that the supporters wouldn’t want to see leave under any circumstance.

Could the Blues fans be forced to say goodbye to a real favourite who’s come through the academy?

A huge offer could tempt Chelsea into selling player

The Express has claimed that Chelsea have no immediate plans to sell Levi Colwill despite the fact he’s on Bayern Munich’s summer transfer wishlist. Apparently, Bayern’s pursuit of the English defender is still in its early stages, but the Germans have at least expressed their interest about a potential summer move.

It is understood that Colwill, 21, is ‘happy to stay’ at Stamford Bridge and the Blues don’t intend to cash in on the academy graduate.

However, the report adds that senior figures at Chelsea could be swayed into selling Colwill if they receive a ‘huge offer’.

If the Blues do actually get rid of Colwill, The Chelsea Chronicle would be both furious and flabbergasted.

The young centre-half is exactly the type of ball-playing defender that Enzo Maresca should be building the side around.

Our message to Chelsea’s hierarchy is to not even think about allowing him to go.

Levi Cowill has great competition next season

If Colwill wants to nail down a permanent starting position next year, he’s got several teammates to go past.

Who will emerge as the starting central defensive partnership from Blues defenders Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi, Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah and Tosin Adarabioyo?

Colwill brings a lovely balance as a left-footer with serious quality on the ball, so he must have a great shot of being a long-term starter.

Now Thiago Silva has gone, it’s time for others to step up.

Described as a “fantastic talent” by Mauricio Pochettino in 2023 via Chelsea’s official website, Colwill has the potential to fill the massive void.
