'In the next days': Fabrizio Romano drops transfer update involving Victor Osimhen

Arsenal are one of several teams that have been linked with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen this summer.

The Gunners are likely to bolster their ranks in the summer transfer window after falling just short of winning the Premier League title last season.

Osimhen’s future remains uncertain, with some speculation suggesting he’s looking for a move away from the Partenopei in the coming weeks.

Fabrizio Romano has now shared the latest involving Osimhen amid links to the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

The transfer insider, writing on CaughtOffside, believes that Osimhen is looking for a way out of Napoli, even if it’s quiet on this saga at the moment.

Indeed, the 25-year-old Nigeria international is set to discuss his future with his agent soon, according to Romano.

“I’ve had some Chelsea fans asking me again about Victor Osimhen as this story has seemed quiet recently,” said Romano.

“I still see Osimhen leaving, but at the moment the reality is that it is quiet, so we can only wait and see what happens.

“Osimhen will meet with his agent in the next days to assess all the options and decide what’s best for him.

“Osimhen’s priority remains to leave Napoli this summer, the plan has not changed.”

Victor Osimhen eyeing move away amid Arsenal and Chelsea links

Osimhen has been a revelation for Napoli since his reported £70million move from Lille back in 2020.

This season, the 25-year-old signed a new contract at Napoli with a reported £113million release clause, but this hasn’t stopped speculation from doing the rounds.

Osimhen has clearly shown that he is “one of the best strikers in the world”, as Joao Cancelo said to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Il Napolista, earlier this year.

It’ll be interesting to see whether things develop between Osimhen and the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Obviously he won’t come cheap, but seeing a player of his calibre in the Premier League would be great.
