West Ham reportedly make official move to sign 6ft 4in striker with £42.5 million release clause

West Ham united manager Julen Lopetegui is hot on the heels of a hugely talented young centre-forward.

Signing a quality striker should be right at the very top of Julen Lopetegui‘s agenda this summer.

West Ham have historically struggled with bringing new strikers to the club over the past four or five years, so getting the centre-forward signing spot on this summer will be crucial for Lopetegui.

The Hammers boss is said to be prioritising the addition of a new centre-forward, with Michail Antonio not the player he once was.

If Lopetegui is to take West Ham to the next level, he cannot afford to let this transfer window pass by without signing a striker who can act as the focal point for his team.

And his latest target is someone who definitely could lead the line in the Spaniard’s favoured system…

The Spaniard desperately needs to sign a top class centre-forward this summer.

And judging by the latest round of reports out in Spain, that’s exactly what he’s trying to do.

Football journalist Victor Lopez told Moiceleste.com, the Hammers have made an approach to sign Celta Vigo forward Jorgen Strand Larsen.

The giant 6ft 4in Norway international bagged 13 goals and three assists in 37 games for Celta Vigo this season just gone.

He is an absolute handful in the air, but he actually possesses a very delicate touch as well for such a big man.

The 24-year-old is far from the finished article, but he does have the rough ingredients needed to be a huge hit in the Premier League as far as I’m concerned.

He allegedly has a £42.5 million release clause inserted into his current contract with Celta Vigo, but Lopez suggests that the La Liga side could sell him for just £25.5 million.

If Julen Lopetegui manages to sign him for the lower figure out of the two, I think that would be decent business for West Ham this summer.

What I really like about the idea of this deal is that we’d be signing a young striker with huge potential, rather than someone on the downward curve of his career with no hunger.

The Red Bull model could well finally be in full effect at the London Stadium.
