Confidence high that Messi will play for Argentina at the 2026 World Cup

According to BolaVIP, confidence is high amongst officials in the Argentine FA that Messi will play at the 2026 World Cup, with hopes now raised that the 36-year-old forward could compete.

As per the report, Inter Miami-linked Angel Di Maria has already ruled out competing at the competition, yet there’s growing optimism that Messi could take part in what would be his last ever tournament for Argentina.

Indeed, Messi walking out with Argentina in 2026 would be quite the sight and a perfect way for the reigning Ballon d’Or holder to end his legendary soccer career given his status as Inter Miami captain.

And if Messi is up for the task on a physical level, Argentina should be doing all they can to get the forward to compete in 2026, where the attacker could get the dream send off.

Messi ending his career at the 2026 World Cup would be poetic

Soccer is a game all about stories, and Messi is arguably the greatest writer the sport has ever seen, with the Argentine doing things that transcend almost every aspect that makes the beautiful game what it is.

And Messi ending his career as a while in 2026 at the World Cup would be poetic, with the Inter Miami star winning everything there is to win out there and leaving a the biggest mark of all in soccer.

As such, Messi deserves to leave the sport he brought to new heights on his own terms, yet with the forward at Inter Miami, ending his career at the World Cup in the United States would be quite something.
