Report: Chelsea chiefs think 'sensational' £35m player is the best option they could sign in one position

Chelsea now think they’ve found the best option they can in the transfer market to fill one position of the squad. In fact, the Blues have strong interest in signing the player, who plays for a Premier League rival.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has told GiveMeSport that Chelsea have three areas that they are most keen to strengthen in the summer window. Apparently, Enzo Maresca’s side really want a young left-back, a right-sided winger, plus a creative-minded player.

The Blues managed to pull themselves to a sixth-placed finish in the Premier League last season with a good end, but there’s a lot of work to do to get back towards the top of the division.

Chelsea target £35m Premier League star

Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed via Substack on Thursday that Chelsea have a ‘strong interest’ in signing Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez.

It is understood that Chelsea chiefs really like the 20-year-old left back.

Phillips says that Chelsea even see the Hungary international as the ‘best option’ they could go for in terms of new left-backs.

In addition, Manchester United really like the Bournemouth full-back, who’s attracting interest from other big clubs as well.

GiveMeSport previously claimed earlier in June that Bournemouth will fight to keep hold of Kerkez this summer and value him at £35m.

Milos Kerkez ticks a lot of boxes

The Chelsea Chronicle really likes the idea of signing Bournemouth’s Kerkez.

He really impressed last season during his debut year in English football, playing 33 games for Bournemouth as an attack-minded left-back.

Described as “sensational” by BBC pundit Garth Crooks last December (BBC Sport), Kerkez has great athleticism and aggression as a modern day full-back.

If he does join, surely either one of Ben Chilwell or Marc Cucurella would need to leave to make room in the squad.
