Report: Bayern Munich understood to be interested in £50m Aston Villa star, but he's unlikely to leave

Bayern Munich are understood to be admirers of one Aston Villa player during the summer transfer window, but a move away from Villa Park is currently looking unlikely.

Aston Villa appear to be hitting their stride in the transfer market, with Unai Emery’s men potentially set to welcome two signings while also selling two of their current squad.

It appears that Juventus are closing in on signing Douglas Luiz while allowing Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior to move the other away.

Meanwhile, Jhon Duran is wanted by Chelsea, with Emery not convinced by the striker.

Bayern Munich understood to be interested in Jacob Ramsey

Aston Villa selling both Douglas Luiz and Duran will hand their transfer kitty a boost, and it appears that it may help ensure that one key player stays put this summer.

Towards the end of last season, there appeared to be a question mark over the future of Jacob Ramsey, with Villa needing to sell players to comply with Profit and Sustainability.

In fact, there seemed to be a chance that Villa would be forced to sell the £50 million-rated Ramsey to ease any financial concerns.

His emergence has alerted Bayern Munich, with The Times reporting that the Bavarian giants are understood to have the 23-year-old on their radar, but the report suggests that Ramsey is now likely to remain with the Villans this summer.

A big boost for Aston Villa

Ramsey did have a frustrating campaign this past season, with injury ruling him for a number of weeks on a couple of occasions, but his talent is undeniable, and keeping him will please the Villans fans.

It is a shame that a Villa side who clearly have the wealth to compete with many of the best sides in the Premier League and are moving in the right direction, have to consider letting some of their key players go in this window – and losing Douglas Luiz will be a setback.

But holding onto Ramsey is a positive piece of news should he indeed stick around.
