N.J. man indicted on attempted murder charge after shooting a man in both arms, officials say

An Ocean County grand jury has indicted a man on a charge of attempted murder after he allegedly shot a 27-year-old man in both arms earlier this year, the county prosecutor’s office announced Thursday.

Million Brown-Bey, 47, of Toms River, was indicted on Wednesday on charges stemming from a shooting a the West Gate Shopping Complex in Lakewood on Jan. 7, officials said. The shooting victim was treated at the Hackensack Meridian Health Ocean Medical Center in Brick Township.

Brown-Bey allegedly approached the victim’s car and fired at least one round, striking the 27-year-old in both of his arms, according to a news release. The victim was able to drive himself to the hospital, officials reported. Brown-Bey was taken into custody on Jan. 11.
