Prince Harry fans stumble upon old photos of 'lookalike' royal - 'Very handsome'

Prince Harry fans have encountered some old pictures of Prince Philip and can’t get over how much he looked like him in his youth.

He may be taken, but the public still champions Prince Harry as a royal heartthrob. The 29-year-old Duke of Sussex tied the knot with his wife Meghan Markle in 2018 before they moved to California in 2020 to raise their family. The couple’s appearances always make news, and oftentimes you’ll see the public raving about how handsome they find Harry. If you’re one who wholeheartedly subscribes to that opinion then you may fall into quite the rabbit hole looking at old pictures of Prince Philip.

Fans think Prince Harry ‘looks just like his grandpa’ Prince Philip

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and the husband of Queen Elizabeth II, sadly passed away in April 2021 at the age of 99.

He left behind a truly commendable legacy, whether that’s regarding his war efforts or his work as the chairman of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. He was born on June 10th, and on that day in 2024, people were sharing old pictures of the beloved figure on Reddit. The slideshow begins with him as a kid and chronicles him through the years.

“Damn, he was good looking,” one commented on the slideshow images, with most voicing how much they feel he resembled his grandson Prince Harry when he was in his youth.

“Harry looks so much like him in my honest opinion,” one wrote. “Especially bearded Philip and bearded Harry,” somebody agreed in the replies. “So much alike.”

“Harry looks like just his grandpa,” another said, and more came forward expressing the same: “I always think Harry looks a lot like him, weirdly. William definitely is more of a Spencer.

In the comments, somebody shared a photo of Philip riding a bike at the young age of 10 “looking exactly like Harry,” they wrote.

Others suggested he looked like Prince William or Lady Louise Windsor, but most were quick to draw parallels to a young Philip and Prince Harry. “Harry looks the most like him,” another added. “He was very handsome in his youth.”

Prince Harry praised Philip as ‘cheeky right ’til the end’

In the wake of his much-adored grandfather’s passing, Harry delivered a public farewell to the “man of service, honor, and great humor” courtesy of an incredibly touching statement.

He was in awe of the way Philip remained “authentically himself” spanning the decades. Noting him as the longest reigning consort to the Monarch, he was also very praising of his service to the country.

However, in a more personal admission, he touched upon a side of Philip only his family would know intimately. “He was my grandpa,” Harry said plainly, “master of the barbecue, legend of banter, and cheeky right ’til the end.”

He signed off the statement in a way that would surely have made the man himself proud: “Grandpa, thank you for your service, your dedication to Granny, and for always being yourself. You will be sorely missed, but always remembered—by the nation and the world…”

In the recent wake of the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Invictus Games, which Harry founded, he’s surely doing his grandfather proud.
