A convicted felon next to Abraham Lincoln at Mount Rushmore? It could happen if former President Donald Trump eliminates the federal income tax, an idea he reportedly floated Thursday.

Trump floated the radical idea of an “all tariff policy” that would lead to the elimination of the federal income tax, CNBC reporter Emily Wilkins reported on X, citing anonymous sources in the room.

"Also discussed using tariffs to leverage negotiating power over bad actors, per another person in the room," Wilkins tweeted.

Democrats quickly seized on the reporting, saying the former president's idea helps the rich.

"Donald Trump wants to completely eliminate income taxes on the wealthy and replace them with what would effectively be enormous new taxes on working families," Rep. Don Beyer wrote in response to Wilkins. "The rich pay far less, working people pay far more."

Trump's tariff and tax plans are already regressive, Steven Rattner wrote on X. Swapping all income tax for tariffs "would be unbelievably regressive," he said.

MAGA supporters, meanwhile, rejoiced at the report.

"If Trump eliminates the federal income tax, I will dedicate the rest of my life to ensuring his face gets on Mt. Rushmore," wrote conservative political commentator, lawyer, and social media influencer Rogan O'Handley, known better by his social media handle DC Draino.

Another Trump-supporter even went so far as to create an illustration.
