Jesus Green to host fourth Cambridge Pride event

Cambridge Pride is returning to Jesus Green in Cambridge on Saturday (15 June).

In its first three years, the event has grown considerably and 15,000 people are expected to flock to the event this weekend.

For the first time this year, there will also be a parade, beginning at noon, with people encouraged to arrive from 11.30am. It will start on Jesus Green and take in city centre streets before heading back.

Cambridge Pride, a celebration of diversity and the LGBTQ+ community, is produced by a team of volunteers, led by the Cambridge-based charity The Pink Festival Group.

The events are funded by donations, sponsorship and community fundraising, and the organisers say they are “committed to delivering an annual, free, family-friendly event, with a parade, diverse entertainment, stalls and a growing variety of opportunities to get involved”.

There will be a main music stage and a dance tent on site, as well as a ‘Calm Corner’, a Pride Champion Tent and Shop, an art workshop, a community hive, and plenty of food and drink.
