Russian governor seeks fishing nets from citizens for army use

It is not specified why the Russian Defense Ministry is unable to provide its army with something as basic as nets

The same official previously asked local hunters for their guns to send to the front to fight Ukrainian FPV drones. This time, he requested fishing nets.

"I appeal to all residents of our region who have fishing nets," Uyba wrote, envisioning some "future victory."

"Our soldiers need them now. We have announced a collection of nets (new and used) to send to the frontline. Requirements: the nets should not be tangled, have no holes, be 5 by 5 centimeters, made of nylon, and preferably dark in color. I ask all concerned residents of Komi to join the campaign."

The official did not specify why such a "superpower" as the Russian Federation is unable to provide its army with not only modern electronic warfare equipment but even ordinary nets.
