'Incredible': Kyle Walker says Arsenal have a 'massive character' who he just loves playing against now

Kyle Walker will go into the Euros with England as one of the main leaders in the group and he’s been singing the praises of some of his teammates.

The Manchester City full-back is one of England’s most experienced players now and has been given the vice captaincy by Gareth Southgate for the Euros.

Walker, now 34, has won it all with City and will be keen to impose his mentality on the rest of the squad.

Of course, that winning mentality being imposed means working with players from clubs like Arsenal, who City were pushed all the way by last season.

And speaking of that Arsenal squad, Walker has lauded one of their talents.

Kyle Walker shares why he just loves Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka

Speaking about Saka, Walker had huge praise for the Arsenal winger after what he’s done since missing his penalty in Euro 2020.

“Personally I loved playing against them. They are some of the best players in the world at the minute. The likes of Jude, Phil, Bukayo – what he is doing, not just the season just gone but last season I think was incredible,” Walker said on his You’ll Never Beat Kyle Walker podcast.

“Even coming off the back of the Euros for the lads who missed the penalties, it was tough of them.

“But what gave me confidence in them players, to think we are going to go on and achieve something special is that they didn’t shy away from it and I think that shows massive character that England fans want to see, but also what your teammates want to see.”

Saka can win England the Euros

While Saka has been excellent for Arsenal, he’s also now one of the proven players in the England squad as well.

Saka excelled back in the Euros in 2021 and then again in the World Cup in Qatar.

Goals, assists, and then that direct threat of being able to get at players and cause problems make Saka one of the best wide forwards on display in Germany this year.

If England are to win it, then Saka will be vital and he could easily end up upstaging the likes of Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane, such is his talent.
