Report: Champions League club now pursuing 'incredible' Aston Villa player, he's said to be keen on move

Aston Villa have been fairly busy on the transfer front in recent days as Unai Emery looks to fine-tune his squad ahead of next season.

The Villans are said to be in discussions with Juventus over a potential deal involving Douglas Luiz which would see Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior going the other way.

Villa are also reportedly in talks to sell Jhon Duran to Chelsea, which would earn them a decent fee that they could then reinvest in the squad.

Now, a report has started doing the rounds claiming a Champions League club is in pursuit of a different Villa player. They also claim that the individual is keen on a move.

According to Turkish outlet Dirilis Postasi, Galatasaray have placed Youri Tielemans on their wishlist once again, after wanting him last summer.

The report goes on to claim that the Belgium international is ‘looking forward to coming to Galatasaray’.

The Super Lig champions reportedly tried to sign Barcelona’s Ilkay Gundogan in recent weeks, but talks failed to progress.

As a result, the Champions League side have now turned their attentions to Tielemans, who was being linked with them back in October too.

Fanatik reported that Okan Buruk, Galatasaray’s head coach, was pushing to sign the Villa man, who was struggling for starts at the time.

Aston Villa unlikely to part company with Youri Tielemans

Youri Tielemans needed a little time to find his feet at Villa, but he has since become a key player for Emery’s side.

With the Villans now potentially set to part company with Douglas Luiz, you’d like to think that they won’t sanction a move for another top midfielder in the same window.

Tielemans has proven to be an “incredible” talent and there’s little chance that he’ll be allowed to leave this summer, especially given Villa are also in the Champions League.
