Report: Lopetegui could sign yet another right winger with £30m West Ham bid for 21-yo imminent

West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegui is seemingly on the hunt to sign yet another right winger this summer.

Julen Lopetegui has already brought Luis Guilherme to West Ham from Palmeiras, in a deal believed to be worth around £25.5 million.

The Hammers boss is also on the hunt for a right-footed left winger, with Portuguese star Jota Silva thought to be firmly on his radar.

However, Lopetegui clearly isn’t done there, and is now casting his net far and wide in a bid to bolster his attacking ranks at the London Stadium.

The 57-year-old does need to strengthen pretty much every single position at West Ham before the start of the new season.

David Moyes left behind an extremely unbalanced and ageing squad when he exited the club at the end of last season.

Right now though, it seems like Lopetegui only has one thing in mind, and that’s improving upon his options in the final third…

Julen Lopetegui could sign yet another right winger for West Ham

The Hammers chief is on the hunt to bring in yet more quality competition for his right wing department.

Well, that’s what a report out in Italy is claiming anyway.

According to Calcio Mercato, West Ham have made contact with Juventus to inform them that they will soon be making an offer for Matias Soule – a player who the Hammers are said to have a ‘concrete interest’ in signing.

Juventus will apparently demand at least €35 million (£30 million) for the Argentinian starlet this summer.

The left-footed right winger has only scored one goal in 21 senior appearances for Juventus, and has registered zero assists.

However, he did rack up 11 goals and three assists in 36 Serie A outings whilst on loan with Frosinone last season.

I have nothing against Matias Soule – he is a fantastic young player, but surely West Ham don’t need another left-footed right winger!

Lopetegui already has Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and recent new signing Guilherme at his disposal at the London Stadium.

I think the Spaniard should be focusing all of his attention on signing a right-footed left winger now – someone like Jota Silva would do nicely.
