West Ham now turn attention to signing 23-year-old left-back with ridiculous speed - report

West Ham United are reportedly in the market for a really elite young left-back this summer.

Julen Lopetegui needs to strengthen his West Ham squad in pretty much every single department this summer.

The addition of a new left-back should be one of the Spaniard’s main priorities before the start of the new season though.

The West Ham boss has a transfer budget of around £90 million this summer, excluding player sales, so he will have to be thrifty in his recruitment.

Real Betis ace Juan Miranda is said to be a target for the Hammers, but Lopetegui appears to be casting his net far and wide.

Aaron Cresswell has signed up for another year, but Emerson Palmieri really does need more top quality cover and competition.

And now, West Ham could be on the verge of bringing in someone who would provide the Italy international with that and more…

West Ham turn attention to signing left-back with ridiculous speed

The East London outfit are hot on the tail of a really exciting young full-back this summer.

The player on the Hammers’ radar has all the ability in the world, and is exactly the kind of signing we should be looking to make.

According to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Fenerbahce ace Jayden Oosterwolde is a firm transfer target for West Ham.

The Dutchman has unbelievable pace, and is ideally suited to playing in the left wing-back role.

That will be an interesting option for Lopetegui to utilise, given the Spaniard’s penchant for switching up to a 3-5-2 at times.

Standing at 6ft 2in tall, Oosterwolde is an incredibly physically robust defender, and he’s ideally suited to the Premier League.

In 27 Super Lig outings for Fenerbahce last season, he averaged 1.6 tackles, 1.3 successful aerial duels and 2.1 clearances per game (Who Scored).

If West Ham manage to sign the Dutch left-back this summer, it will be a really good deal for the club.
