This month’s market will feature new surprises, especially for wildlife lovers, as regular stallholder Adrian from Hillside House Honey will be bringing his enclosed beehive along to demonstrate the art of beekeeping.

Visitors will also be able to sign up their four-legged friends to the market’s first-ever dog show which takes place in July.

The tearoom will be sponsored by Swings and Smiles, a Thatcham-based charity that provides a place to play and support for children with special needs and their families in West Berkshire and beyond.

At the last edition of the market in April, tearoom charity sponsor Bridge for Young People raised £450 to continue supporting young people aged 16-25 in the local area who are homeless or leaving care.

April’s market also saw the addition of some new stalls, including Plot 34a Chillies (named after an allotment sign) whose range of sauces, rubs and oils made for some spicy sampling, as well as the welcome return of The Cheese Agent and Wilson’s Wonders, the market’s regular vegetable supplier which added bread and pastries to its offering.
