Lionel Messi blown away by West Ham target Valentin Carboni

Valentin Carboni is Argentina’s ‘next big thing’, and he’s just received the biggest compliment he could have wished for.

Messi sat down to speak to TYC Sports, and spoke glowingly about the 19-year-old Hammers target.

The Inter Miami superstar said, “He has a great future, present and future, we must take advantage of it as well as many boys who come with great strength.Since we arrived in the United States that he has been training with us, he had seen him in the Under 20 but he grew a lot: he is a different player, much more trained and with incredible quality.”

West Ham are said to be keen to bring Carboni to the London Stadium this summer, and were recently quoted £34 million to sign him by Inter Milan.

Interestingly, we actually tried to sign him back in January, but couldn’t get a deal over the line in the end.

The 19-year-old is a special, special young talent. During a loan spell with Monza last season, he bagged two goals and four assists in 31 Serie A outings – not bad for someone who’s only just turned 19!

Carboni is incredibly comfortable with the ball at his feet, and he floats in between midfield and attack. The ball sticks to his feet, just like it does with Lucas Paqueta.

He has a really keen eye for a killer pass, and this enables him to open up teams who like to sit back and defend.

The South American starlet stands at 6ft 1in tall as well, so he should be perfectly suited to Premier League football what with its physicality and robust, aggressive nature.

Described by Goal as the ‘new Dybala’ the teenage attacking midfield play-maker has the footballing world at his feet.

The endorsement from Lionel Messi should serve as a very clear message to West Ham – sign Valentin Carboni at all costs.
