Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Kenya believe that significant progress requires Russia's participation in the Peace Summit, reports Reuters.

"I must also note that this summit could have been more result-oriented if the other party to the conflict, Russia, was present in the room," said Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud stated that negotiations that will inspire confidence will require difficult compromises.

Russia's absence

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking at the summit in Switzerland, explained that Russia was not invited to the first peace summit because the aggressor country was not interested in peace.

The Head of the Office of the President, Andrii Yermak, stated that Ukraine is ready to present a peace plan to Russia, but this will happen after the Peace Summit in Switzerland.

However, according to President of Switzerland Viola Amherd, summit participants will discuss how to involve Russia in finding a path to a just peace in Ukraine.
