Report: Newcastle keen on signing 'superstar' £25m forward; he's already won MOTM at the Euros in Germany

Newcastle United are looking into a host of new signings this summer and could now move for a player starring at the Euros in Germany.

The Magpies have to balance things this summer with outgoings set to counter-balance the incomings that Eddie Howe wants to bring in.

The last few windows have seen PIF back Howe and Newcastle but without Champions League football, the spending needs to be reined in a touch.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that new signings won’t be coming in at all. Far from it.

And according to reports, a forward who has already starred at the Euros is on Newcastle’s agenda.

Newcastle keen on signing Federico Chiesa if Michael Olise goes elsewhere

According to a report from GiveMeSport, Newcastle have an eye on Chiesa ahead of the summer.

Chiesa is part of the Italy squad over in Germany and it’s claimed that Newcastle have an admiration for the Juventus star, who is being linked with a move away from Turin.

A number of clubs, Arsenal included, are keen on Chiesa, who could be allowed to leave for around £25m.

Reports over the weekend have suggested that Chiesa is actually keen on staying with Juventus if he can.

However, GMS are claiming that a decision on his future will be reached after the Euros and Newcastle are ready to strike.

The Mags are keen on Crystal Palace star Michael Olise. But Chiesa is another option, should Olise sign for one of Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester United.

Chiesa would light up the Premier League

Newcastle might feel a touch scarred by the Sandro Tonali transfer but in fairness to the midfielder, he was playing well before his ban and off field issues.

Chiesa, then, could be a smart signing for the Mags.

Lauded as a potential ‘superstar‘ over in Italy, Chiesa won the man of the match award yesterday as Italy beat Albania.

Newcastle fans, then, will be keeping a close eye on him as the Euros continues to progress.
