Report: Arsenal begin talks to sign 'one of the best strikers in the world' after missing out on Benjamin Sesko

Arsenal have spoken to the agent of a world-class striker after missing out on signing Benjamin Sesko.

Mikel Arteta is desperate to strengthen his squad after falling short in the Premier League title race for the second season in a row.

Arsenal need a new striker this summer, and Sesko was identified as the one they wanted to sign. However, the Slovenia international decided to stay at RB Leipzig instead and has signed a new contract there.

Now, Arsenal are considering moves for other targets.

Victor Osimhen’s agent holds talks with Arsenal

Arsenal have long been linked with a move to sign Victor Osimhen.

The Nigeria international is expected to leave Napoli this summer, and reports have claimed that he is waiting for an offer from Arsenal.

Osimhen, branded as ‘one of the best strikers in the world‘ by Joao Cancelo, has all the qualities you would want from a number nine.

He is quick, strong, excellent in the air and is a lethal finisher. He could be the final piece in Arsenal’s puzzle and could well help the Gunners win the Premier League title.

After missing out on Sesko, Arsenal are considering what to do in the market.

Italian outlet Il Roma have now revealed that Osimhen’s agent has spoken to Arsenal over a potential move in this summer’s transfer window.

Chelsea have bowed out of the race, but the report claims PSG are still in the background. A couple of clubs from Saudi Arabia are interested in Osimhen too.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out, but the report has urged fans to keep an eye on the Premier League, and Arsenal are the only English club currently in the race to sign him.

Arsenal’s stance on paying Osimhen’s release clause

Osimhen checks a lot of boxes for Arsenal.

The Napoli man is already among the best forwards in Europe but he still hasn’t entered his prime years. That makes him ideal for Arteta, but there is one problem.

Osimhen is protected by £102 million release clause, reports have claimed that he is expecting Arsenal to make a move for him.

However, the North Londoners are not willing to meet that figure, which could complicate things.

It will be interesting to see if Napoli will agree to accept a lower fee for Osimhen this summer. If they will, we won’t be surprised to see Arsenal make a move to sign him.
