Report: West Ham make enquiry for 24-yo Juventus star who flopped badly in the Premier League

West Ham United are quite clearly casting the net far and wide when it comes to the search for a new striker this summer.

A bid has been lodged for Samu Omorodion, but that was rejected, and now West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui is seemingly focusing his attention elsewhere.

The Hammers actually have a really dangerous front-line already, but the addition of a proven centre-forward would complete us as an attacking unit.

Michail Antonio has been fantastic for the Hammers over the years, but he’s not the player he once was anymore.

Lopetegui has already kicked off his summer transfer business with the signing of Brazilian teenager Luis Guilherme.

Now’s the time to finally end our jinx when it comes to signing centre-forwards though. And the Spaniard apparently has a very specific plan in place.

West Ham make enquiry for Juventus striker

The Hammers have always struggled when it comes to signing new strikers, especially over the past few years.

Sebastien Haller and Gianluca Scamacca both failed miserably under David Moyes, and it will be absolutely crucial for Lopetegui to sign a forward who’s perfectly suited to his system.

Lopetegui is eyeing up a move for a striker who fans of English football will know very well indeed.

Unfortunately for the Hammers fans though, he hardly set the world alight when he played on our shores.

According to Italian football journalist Edoardo Mecca, West Ham have made an enquiry for Moise Kean – a player who we’ve been heavily linked with signing on numerous occasions in the past.

The Hammers could face competition from the likes of Roma, Lazio, Atletico Madrid, Bologna and Fiorentina for Kean’s signature.

He spent time with Everton before returning to Juventus after a torrid spell at Goodison Park.

Four goals in 39 games for the Toffees tells us all we need to know about Kean’s struggles in England.

When the 24-year-old burst onto the scene as a teenager many years ago, it seemed like he had absolutely everything needed to succeed at the very highest level.

However, Moise Kean has never fulfilled his potential unfortunately, and I don’t think West Ham should be signing him unless he’s available for an unbelievable bargain fee.

I think the Hammers transfer committee should be focusing their attention elsewhere.
