Report: 'Absolutely rapid' Wolves target's preference for next move now shared after recent release

A player Wolves have recently been linked with is said to be working really hard on his fitness, with several clubs keen to sign him.

Wanderers fans were pleased to see a new face join the club earlier this week, with Rodrigo Gomes signing from Braga.

The winger is the second addition for Wolves, with Tommy Doyle turning his loan move from Manchester City permanent.

Fans are hoping the club will continue to be productive, with Gary O’Neil needing a bigger squad for 2024/25 after injuries took a hold last term.

One player Wolves could potentially look to sign this summer is Ryan Sessegnon, who became a free agent recently.

At the end of May it was reported that Wolves were onee of a few clubs looking at potentially signing Ryan Sessegnon.

Of course, there has been a lot of speculation about Rayan Ait-Nouri in recent times. It could well be that a big offer comes in for the Algeria international this summer.

If Ait-Nouri goes, then Sessegnon might be someone O’Neil fancies.

But given he is a free agent, it might be that he gets snapped up quite quickly.

According to football.london, the player is currently said to be working hard on his fitness and is out in Portugal at the moment at a training camp.

The publication say they understand the preference for the 24-year-old is to remain in England.

Sessegnon did have a loan spell with Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in the 2020/21 season, making 29 appearances for the club.

Sessegnon could find new lease of life at Molineux

It will be interesting to see where Sessegnon heads this summer and if Molineux could be an option for him.

The ‘absolutely rapid’ star has had rotten luck with injuries and his time at Tottenham did not pan out the way he hope it would.

At the moment, Wanderers are not in a position whereby they need to strengthen at left-back. Ait-Nouri remains at the club, and Hugo Bueno is also still an option for O’Neil.

Nelson Semedo and Matt Doherty can alsoboth operate on the left side if needs be.

Realistically Wolves would only need to move for a new left-back if one of Ait-Nouri or Bueno was sold. By the time one of those players leaves, it may well be that another club has come in for the unattached Sessegnon.
