Brighton open talks to sign 'electric' £30m player Arne Slot wants at Liverpool - Fabrizio Romano

Liverpool want to sign new players this summer but it appears Brighton have made a move to beat them to one potential signing.

The Reds are in the market for new players to freshen up the squad and with Arne Slot now in charge, a few signings are bound to be made.

Slot has yet to start his work properly at Anfield as he enjoys a summer break with his family but when he does get to Liverpool, he will want to start quickly.

New signings, then, are going to be on his agenda and he’ll be keen to see new players arrive to fit his style and blueprint for the way Liverpool play.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, one potential signing could now be on his way to Brighton.

As we know, Liverpool and Chelsea have expressed an interest in signing Summerville this summer.

And according to Romano, the race is very much open, albeit Brighton have made their move.

Summerville a man in-demand

After such a brilliant season with Leeds and then missing out on promotion, Summerville was always going to be a player who other clubs wanted this summer.

It is, then, no surprise to see a team like Brighton come into the mix.

They’ve had success raiding the Championship before, with Joao Pedro one of their best players since he signed from Watford.

For Liverpool, meanwhile, they might well have a decision to make when it comes to going for Summerville.

He is very much a player Arne Slot knows well and he does fill a few positions.

However, at around £30m, the ‘electric‘ winger is pricey for a Championship player and Liverpool might well decide to sit this one out in the end.
