Report: Liverpool hoping to get deal over the line for 'dominant' £52m player soon, he's ready to move

Liverpool are likely to be busy in the transfer market over the next two-and-a-half months as they look to bolster their ranks.

The Reds had to settle for just the Carabao Cup last season after also being firmly in the picture for the Premier League title, the FA Cup and the Europa League.

In addition, Liverpool have a new manager at the helm, and the Reds hierarchy will be eager to give Arne Slot all the tools he needs to start well at Anfield.

Now, a report has claimed that Liverpool have decided on their primary target for the summer, and are hopeful of completing a deal over the coming weeks.

The player in question is Goncalo Inacio, who has made a real name for himself at Sporting Lisbon in recent years.

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool have been working to sign the 22-year-old since November and he is now their main target.

The report also claims that the Reds are hoping to complete his transfer in the coming weeks, and that he is ‘ready to make the big leap into the Premier League’.

Who is Liverpool target Goncalo Inacio?

Goncalo Inacio has come through the ranks at Sporting – after starting out at Almada – and is now one of their key players.

Indeed, the 6ft 1in powerhouse has been deemed ‘one of the hottest talents in Europe’, as per a Daily Mail scouting report.

Inacio has already made 171 appearances for Sporting, registering 15 goals and nine assists, and has won nine Portugal caps, scoring twice.

Inacio is a ‘dominant‘ centre-back who has all the qualities to be a top defender in the coming years. It’s only a matter of time before he makes the jump to one of Europe’s elite.

Meanwhile, Liverpool could do with bringing in defensive reinforcements. Joel Matip is leaving Anfield, so there will be a need to fill the vacancy.

Let’s see what happens in the coming weeks. With a release clause worth around £52million, he could well prove a bargain for Liverpool, as he really is that good.
