'Potentially available': Chelsea could actually be prepared to sell 'very fast' player this summer - journalist

Chelsea look to be open to selling one of their young players this summer.

Right now, Chelsea are trying to strengthen their attack.

The Blues are interested in Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran, with Fabrizio Romano claiming that they are going to decide whether to sign him or not soon.

They have also been linked with Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy.

Signing either forward, then, could pave the way for one of their current players to leave Stamford Bridge.

Aston Villa or another Premier League club could sign Chelsea man

While Duran could be heading to Chelsea this summer, it looks like one man in Enzo Maresca‘s squad could be moving in the opposite direction or to another English side.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Chelsea are prepared to offer David Datro Fofana to the Villans as they look to bring Duran’s £40m price tag down.

Jacobs has also claimed that Fofana could be made available for other clubs as well.

In his column for Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, he wrote: “Chelsea are also prepared to offer David Datro Fofana, and not just for Villa.

“He is certainly not transfer listed or going to be forced out, but potentially available if it suits all parties.”

Why Chelsea should look to include David Datro Fofana in Jhon Duran deal

£40m is way too much money for a 20-year-old who has only made three starts in the Premier League.

Honestly, being a year older than Duran, Chelsea may be better off just utilising him instead.

However, if they are set on signing the Colombian, then because of his price tag and the fact that he is around the same age as Fofana, the Blues should try to include the Ivorian in the deal.

It is hard to imagine two young strikers likes Duran and Fofana coexisting in the same squad when Nicolas Jackson is already there. The latter is barely going to play, so sending him to another club could be in his best interest.

Fofana may attract interest this summer after his loan spell at Burnley. Vincent Kompany described him as a “very fast” player when he was at Turf Moor.
