Police arrest two men after industrial copper cable recovered in Headley

Police have arrested two men after recovering a large amount of industrial size copper cable in Headley.

A 42-year-old man from Portsmouth, and a 55-year-old man from Basingstoke have been arrested on suspicion of burglary other than dwelling.

They have been released on police bail until July 22.

Officers suspect the cable was stolen, and they are keen to find out where it could have been taken from.

A police spokesperson said: “If you work in the area and think you’ve had copper cabling stolen from your premises but have not yet reported it to us, please get in touch.
